Nicky Hepburn is a contemporary jeweller who creates one off pieces, production ranges and commissions from her studio in the Melbourne suburb of Brunswick. She trained as a Gold and Silversmith and specializes in making contemporary jewellery and objects.
She has been involved with numerous group, solo and international exhibitions. Her recent exhibition work, which was on show in the Embassy of Australia in Washington DC from October 2011 until February 2012, is based on her response to the textures, details and forms of the landscapes of the bay, coastline and forest.
Her exhibition work often informs the stories behind her production ranges.
Nicky creates a number of different ranges, based on different stories, materials and techniques. She uses a variety of precious and found materials often collected on her walks and travels.
Nicky enjoys using a wide variety of stones and wherever possible believes in the recycling of materials she uses. She also enjoys creating unique pieces specifically designed for the individual.
